Scrip is the gift card fundraiser for SEAS. Think about using gift cards or eGift Cards to pay for the purchase you will already be making.
*How does it work?
We sell physical and eGift Cards through a 3rd party named Great Lakes Scrip Center. Every retailer that participates in the Scrip program offers a rebate back to the organization. Each retailer offers a different percentage on the rebate they give back and can range anywhere from 1% to 20%. For example, Target offers 2.25% and Fox Restaurants offer 20%.
*What does it mean for me as a SEAS family?
The Scrip year runs from May 1st until April 30th. During that time SEAS families are asked to purchase physical and/or eGift Cards and earn $150 in rebates for the school, or buyout the $150 at the end of the Scrip year. For example, if you purchased a Target card at $100 you would earn $2.25 towards your $150 goal. A $25 Fox Restaurants card will earn you $5.00. Once you meet your family’s goal, you will the split the rebates earned 50/50 between the school and a credit towards your tuition. If you were to get $200, the $50 over would be split $25 to the school and $25 credited to your tuition on FACTS. A report is run at the end of October and at the end of May. If you reach your goal in October, then you have the rest of the year to earn more for the school and for your family.
*How do I get started?
Contact our Scrip Administrator for our school code. Set up an account online: go to www.shopwithscrip.com and click on the “Join A Program” button in the upper right hand corner. After you set up your account you can start shopping.
*How do I pay for my orders?
There are 3 ways to pay for your order:
*Bank Account: This uses your linked bank account to pay for your cards (you can sign up for this after setting up your account). You will automatically be charged a flat $.15 per order service fee. Using your bank account will make ordering and receiving any eGift Cards easier and faster.
*Credit cards: You can link a credit card to your account. When using a credit card you will be charged a service fee of 2.6% of your total amount ordered. This option also allows the ordering and receiving of your eGift Cards easier and faster.
*Cash/check: You can choose the pay by check option. No service fee is charged when using this method, but you must bring in the check or cash into the school office in order to receive your order. If your order contains eGift cards, your order will not be released to you until the school receives your payment.
*How do I place my order?
The following video will help assist you in placing your first order. It will show you physical card, eGift Cards and reloadable cards. Please note that eGift Cards will be ready to use right away only if you select the pay with credit card or bank account options. If you select the pay by check you will have to wait until the Scrip Coordinator receives your payment and releases your order to you. The same applies to reloading your cards with more funds.
*Please note: The video was made before some name changes. ScripNow is the same as eGift Cards.*
*Is there an app I can use?
Yes! The app is called RaiseRight. You can find it on Google Play or the app store. Once you set up your account online, you can sign into the app with the same log in information.
*How do I receive my order?
Some physical cards are kept on hand by the Scrip Coordinator in the school office and if your order contains those cards, you order will be filled as soon as the coordinator receives the order. If the cards you ordered are not in the inventory, they will be ordered with the larger school order once a week. The weekly order will be placed on Fridays at 10:00, so make sure your order gets placed online before that time. That order is usually delivered the next Friday and will be filled on that day. There are two delivery options available. The order can be sent home with your oldest child, as long as they are in at least 1st grade. Or you can come pick them up at the front desk of the school office. Please note that if your oldest is younger than 1st grade or if you are paying by check/cash, pick-up at the front desk is the only option. Please email scrip@school.seastucson.org to indicate your delivery method preference.
*Please note: Due to Covid rules, some of these dates/times and the delivery options may change. Please email the coordinator for more information.*
*Can a family member sign up and earn money for my family’s $150 obligation?
Absolutely! Please have them sign up using the same steps you did and the same enrollment code. Just make sure they enter your student(s)’s name when they register. Please email scrip@school.seastucson.org to say that a certain family member’s earnings should be added to yours.
*Can I come in and buy gift cards you have on hand?
Yes. Scrip office hours are Monday and Wednesday from 8-9 am and Fridays before and after mass. Please note that office hours before and after mass will change if the school mass is changed to a different day during the week.
*Please note: Due to Covid rules, some of these dates/times and the delivery options may change. Please email the coordinator for more information.*
Now that you have the basics down, here are some tips to help you reach your goal.
*As mentioned above, you can download the RaiseRight app on your phone. When you are out shopping or even eating out, you can check the app to see if that business is a participating retailer. If they are, why not purchase an eGift Card to pay for your purchases or your meal. Just look for the eGift Card bar code icon. Be sure to pay for your Scrip order with your bank account or credit card. Your eGift Card will come directly to you in your wallet. Now you are ready to pay with your eGift Card and you have just earned rebate money towards your $150 goal!
*To get to your goal faster be sure to look for retailers that offer a higher percentage back to SEAS. For example, a $50 purchase of a card whose rebate is on 1.25% will earn you $0.63, but a $50 purchase on a card whose rebate is 13% will earn you $6.50.
*Look for announcements from your Scrip Coordinator or from Shop With Scrip (via email) about special promotions. Sometimes retailers will offer a bonus on their rebates. There are also days offered by Shop With Scrip and retailers called ThankScriping Days. There are usually 3 ThankScriping Days a year, usually one in May, one in September and one around Thanksgiving. ThankScriping Days are a 1 day opportunity to purchase eGift Cards or to reload any of your reloadable cards for an increased rebate amount from about 70+ retailers.
*Make sure you plan ahead for Christmas. Christmas is a very busy time for Scrip purchases. Orders placed online that include cards that are not kept on hand at the school will need to be ordered with Great Lakes Scrip Center. These orders usually have a 1 week turnaround time from the time they are ordered by the Scrip Coordinator until the time they are delivered to the school. There will be a deadline for the last order before Christmas in order for them to be delivered to the school and then sent home with your student or picked up by a parent. This is a firm deadline, so please be mindful of when that deadline is and place your online orders accordingly. This deadline will be communicated via email by the Scrip Coordinator.
*Look for physical cards and eGift Cards that are reloadable. If you see the arrow icon, your desired card is reloadable. That means you will only have to purchase the physical card once and reload it when the funds are out. To reload your card, you must first register that card in your account. Please watch the video on how to register and reload your card.
*Your Fry’s Quarterly Statements can also be applied to your Scrip Account and will add to your Scrip total. If you are a Fry’s shopper you can link St. Elizabeth Ann Seton School to your Fry’s Rewards card. Purchases you make at Fry’s when scanning your Fry’s Rewards card will go towards SEAS. To link SEAS to your Fry’s Rewards card, you must first login to your Fry’s account (or set one up) and click on Community Rewards. It will ask you for an organization number for SEAS, it is BU202. Every quarter your Scrip Coordinator will ask for your Fry’s Quarterly Statement. You will login to your account and again go to Community Rewards. On that page you will see your donation summary, which should say SEAS and the organization number. Under that summary you will find a different summary called Previous Quarter. Please send a picture that shows your total contribution and that SEAS is your organization. It will then be entered into your Scrip account.
